About H&M Return Policy
You have 30 days to return or exchange an item purchased from H&M. H&M offers exchange and refund on garments, swimwear (with hygienic seal) and beauty products within the 30 days of purchase.
The incorrect orders like missing or incorrect items cannot be returned to the store. It must return to by mail. For undergarments are the final sale for hygienic reasons you will not receive refunds on swimwear if the hygienic seal is not in place or been broken. H&M only refund for items which are not damaged, soiled, washed, worn and with all labels and tags.
Note that special collections and designer collaborations are not in the standard return policy.
H&M refund the value of a returned item in the original form of payment used to make the purchase. After return an item you will receive a Return Note in your email when H&M process your return and refund. The refunds will take 2 weeks the credit reflected in your account and after 2 billing cycles to credit appear in credit card statement.
If you paid with H&M gift card, you will receive a refund in the form of e-gift card with updated balance even if you paid with the physical gift card. You will receive your H&M e-gift card via email within 24 hours of return processed.
If you use the gift card and another payment method to pay an item(s). First, you will receive an e-gift card and remaining amount will refund in the original mode of payment used to make a purchase. Assume that you purchase products of $100 and you paid $25 with the gift card and $75 with your credit card. Now you want to return $50 worth items you will receive $25 e-gift card and $25 in your credit card.
If you return item(s) in store you will receive in the original form of payment.
Please note that the shipping fee will not be refunded.
How to return Online Purchased Items?
Returns in the Store
Returns in the store are free. Bring your e-receipt or packing slip with item(s) to any H&M store in the USA except Puerto Rico.
If there is any problem with your order like wrong or missing items, return it via mail, not in the store.
Return by Mail
There is a simple way to return is by mail. There is a self-adhesive return label is present on your packing slip. This label is pre-paid and pre-addressed and the return shipping fee of $5.99 is deducted from your refund. If you lost or misplace your label or return form you can print it from HERE.
If you do not want to use pre-paid label than sent the item with a traceable carrier like USPS, UPS or FedEx. Now store the return tracking number from the package to ensure that it returned to the warehouse. Note that H&M is not responsible for packages are sent with the label not provided by H&M. Also, H&M does not accept C.O.D deliveries.
Refund for Online Purchases
The refund is issued in the same credit card you used to pay. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. It will take up to 2 weeks to appear in your credit card account and 2 billing cycles to appear in your credit card statement.
Refunds if Paid with Gift Cards
If you want to return an item(s) paid only with H&M gift cards, you will get an e-gift card with updated balance even if you paid with the physical card. You will get your new e-gift card via e-mail. If you used a gift card and credit card combined to make a purchase you will receive in gift card first and then a credit card.
If you paid with PayPal, you will receive a refund in your PayPal account.
How to return Store Purchased Items?
Return with Original Receipt
H&M offers exchange and refund in the original payment method for garments, swimwear (with hygienic seal) and beauty products within the 30 days of purchase. If the 30-day return limit is over you will receive the refund as store credit of purchase price in the form of a merchandise credit. If you don’t have the receipt, the refund will be issued as a store credit at the last sale price or current selling price, whichever is lower in the form of the merchandise credit card.
Discounted ‘Final Sale’ merchandise and gift card purchase items are not eligible for refund or exchange. H&M cannot offer refunds on swimwear if the hygiene seal is not in place or been broken. All merchandise must return in the original selling condition.
H&M Returned Policy No Receipt
Valid identification is required for no receipt returns. The driver’s license, state ID card, passport or military/government ID are valid identifications.
You can return unwashed, unworn or defective merchandise if you don’t have a receipt. The item(s) returned without a receipt will refund at last activity/sale price or current selling price, whichever is lower in the form of merchandise credit usable for H&M store purchases.
The gift card purchases and discounted final sale item(s) are not eligible for refund or exchange.
